Interesting you mention the Constitution...
The constitution we drew up for Iraq requires a minimum of 25% women lawmakers in their version of Congress. We still don't have the ERA for our own women. Nothing like looking out for everyone but your own!

Seriously, there are real problems with the COPA laws. The filtering required in libraries and schools is designed to keep people not only from the raunch, but from any informational site that *might* discuss sex and the human body in clinical terms. So an adult can't look up information on certain forms of cancer, but we can still get "bored housewife" spam in our inboxes.

I just had a spirited discussion with one of my co-workers over the issue of censorship and the law. Religion is always the argument brought up to justify any crackdown. OK-say the religious right wins. Whose particular brand of religion do we chose? Baptist? Catholic? Buddhist? Shinto?

I like to think that *most* adults can make a decision as to what they wish to look at in the privacy of their own homes. I couldn't care less what you are legally entitled to look at! I have enought of my own business to mind without getting into yours.

If it doesn't involve minors or does not result in bodily harm to the adult participants, who cares?

*Maybe this is why Ashcroft got gallstones. God's way of telling him to mind his own business?*
