You know, you keep saying things like this but I have never seen you provide any proof that MS offered or even tried to bribe anyone. You claim that donations to the different parties are the same thing. Then the companies against MS such as Sun and the rest, who's combined donations were much more than Microsofts should have insured that MS had the book thrown at them.

DOJ knew that they could try to get a settlement or continue to try a case which would have ended up going to the Supreme Court and having no assurance that somewhere along the way they would not lose what they had already gained.

In the two big anti-trust cases lately, IBM and AT&T, the results were the same. Settlement.

There is no case for "The best justice money can buy" it is simply, getting the best they can without running the risk that they lose what they have.

Like the anti-trust case and/or laws or not, that is your right.

Like the outcome of the case or not, that is your right.

Like the settlement or not, that is your right.

But unless you have some kind of proof that the anti-trust department in DOJ, the appeals court that remanded the case and the judge that reheard the case and later approved the settlement were swayed by or pressured by anyone because of any money that MS gave to either political party, you don't have the right to keep accusing anyone of accepting bribes.

Just my opinion which is worth as much, no more and no less, as yours.
