Not surprising.
"Anyone who thinks there's really THAT much of a difference between either of the political parties in the US is either really naive or really young."

Can you serve(use) 2 masters and expect respect and loyalty? Nope.

"Stick to the actual topics at hand and spare us your idealism."

You are off. I am sticking to the actual topic. You said spare 'us'. Who is 'us''? You is 'us'?

"The patent office is not part of the political machine and the Eolas patent should never have been issued."

YOu are contradicting yourself looking at your first paragraph of this comment. Politics is the government. The patent office is part of the government. Why is it that the Eolas patent should never have been issued? Please answer. Because Microsoft IE is another monopoly?

"The mistake is being corrected, hopefully for all of us, and has nothing to do with the Bush administration, the Clinton administration, the Kerry campaign, the "I have a scream" speech, or anything else."

Why was it the mistake? Why was it needed to be corrected? Because it is Microsoft. IE is so popular and so you reason the patent needs to be revoked. So any Microsoft protocol between Windows servers and Windows desktop should be available to the public. Microsoft should give up its IP.

Peter Schroeder is just one of those Microsoft people.
