Neutrality means that you don't give preference to any side of a certain issue.

And the difference is.......?

And that is the way it is now, nothing is stopping anyone from running their own lines except their own willingness to take the risk of investing. Has the government insured equality in the welfare system, or how about "affirmative action" is that fair? Really, a capitalist society isn't designed for a level playing field for all anyway.

I'm not over-generalizing at all when I refer to the socialist party (democrats), as a group they preach socialism quite consistantly, as you appear to want. Maybe you could live in a country where everything is as fair as you think it should be.....care to try? I'm curious to know what country has it more "fair" than the US. Can you name one that you would live in?

How did a monopoly on their own lines prevent anyone from inventing the cell phone? C'mon, that is a stretch at best. And BTW, I remember $30 phone bills and that included a little long distance. And you could hardly break the phones, they were excellent quality. Try dropping one of the modern cheapo phones. Service was excellent also, so yes, I remember reliable rugged phones, made in the US, that just worked.

I remember phone bills of hundreds of dollars...

Sounds like a business phone to me, ours are still in the hundreds, what is your point?
