MS got where they are becuase they engaged in dirty trickas, possibly to the point where they broke the law, hence had to pay off both Corel and IBM. Novell is still suing them from when they owned Word Perfect becuase of this.

MS Office sucked such much that Microsoft had to add an auto crash recovery system into it.

Finaly ODF != OO.org

I don't see why this is so hard for you to understand. ODF is a standardized file format developed by a consurtioum of companies such as Corel, IBM, Boing, Sun, ECT and is not a product perse but rather a standard file format. In fact the topic of this story is that MS Office will be getting ODF support through a third party plugin.

The story only mentions the OO.org party as another piece of software along with KOffice, AbiWord, Gnumeric, Writely, ECT that already support the odf format.
