This is a great tool for companies that want to transition slowley to
OpenOffice. Of course for a small company without technical expertise, enough to install a simple plug-in, no. But, the state of Masachussettes will be able to make great use of this kind of plug-in.

Microsoft does not want to support this because they know it will help with transitions to OpenOffice or other ODF format office suites, and make document interchange much easier. Hopefully, they can figure out a way to take Microsoft proprietary formats off of the save menu so documents can only be saved in ODF. This will also allow the state to point anybody wanting to access the state documents with Microsoft Office to the plug-in.
