Who says you have to pave the desert?
Just sink columns into the ground and mount the panels on brackets. Service the panels with 4 wheel drive vehicles.

1 kilowatt / m^2 = 10.764 ft^2 or 92.9 watts / ft^2 for pure solar energy.

Actually a solar panel puts out 13 watts / ft^2. You said we need 2500 m^2 which is 26910 ft^2 x 13 = 349,830 watts or 349.83 kw. That is 467 hp.. That is more output than a 3208 Cat. Whatcha running bubba? An electric foundry? Maybe 4 commercial arc welders? At 10 cents per kilowatt that is $34.90 / hr x 6 x 30 = $6282.00 / mo. I said 6 for the 6 hours a day it will run in the sun.

Normal people have $250 electric bills when the house is all electric. That is about 2500 kw / mo. or 84 kw / day or 3.5 kw / hr.

You have to produce 84 kw in 6 hrs and store the reserves in batteries. So 84 / 6 = 14 kw / hr for design area. 14,000 / 13 = 1077 ft^2 or 32.82 ft per side or 21' x 50'.

The only thing holding all of this back is the price of panels. These companies must tear a page out of Henry Ford playbook if they want to mass produce them. The panels are $600 - $900 a piece and they are 3' x 5'. You would need 72 panels or $43,200 in panels or $64,800 in GE panels. Then you have to add an inverter, batteries and labor for install.

Try not to pull a number out of your butt when you debate. Math is a beautiful thing.
