Facts? Hah!
Gee, somehow I manage to get through most months without using 365 megawatt-hours of electricity. (do the math, bozo. 500 x 24 x 30.417) My typical electric bill shows about 280 KILOWATT-hours or less than 10 KWH per day. Figuring 10 hours of sunlight, that's ONE square meter at 100% efficiency. My roof is about 160 square meters, with about 100 square meters facing south. Even at 10% efficiency and 6 hours per day, there's room to spare. If you want people to take you seriously, don't make boneheaded simple math errors.

The main problem with solar power is storage -- when you need electricity and the sun ain't shinin'. Batteries are bulky, expensive, inefficient, contain toxic materials and have to be replaced every few years. Pushing power to "the grid" and pulling it back out later just defers the storage problem to somebody else. We need a compact, efficient, high density, low maintenance energy storage device to make solar power practical. Daniel Shipstone, where are you?
