Lack of distinction

Don't you think American gameplayers can and do distinguish between Hitler and his German supporters of the 1930s and 1940s and the German people of today? Hitler & co. were clearly evil. Do you want us to suppress that? These Islamic militants are using combat game mods to portray Americans as the bad guys, as part of their terrorist activity. How is it so hard to understand that this is bad because the good guys are being maligned by those with evil in their hearts, vs. the WWII games that show as evil something that actually was?

Germans of today should acknowledge the past as something shameful, but know that they have nothing to answer for personally. You need not be too defensive about your country's past. Instead work to make sure that such things don't happen again anywhere. Saddam committed genocide against his own people. Germany should be particularly committed to the efforts in Iraq to stop such atrocities. Instead, Germany, France and Russia chose to protest the American initiative to dismantle terrorism and the fascist government there.
