Ballmer is Actively Trying to Keep Republicans In Office
Ballmer recently donated a sluggo of money to keep Republicans in office and I think he is interested in getting Slade's ex aid to replace Cantwell.

WA state is remarkable in that the top three in charge are women. Cris, Maria, and Patty are all Democrates and none of them likes anything about Slade. Patty use to be proud of her assistance in getting Microsoft recognized world wide but she hasn't vocalized any support for the company since the governor's election.

Maria Cantwell is/was an executive at Real Networks which of course was the originator of the EU complaint against Microsoft. And Cris was the lead autorney against the Tobacco Industry. She fights evil like Spitzer in NY.

There are a lot of Democrates in Seattle and of course many at Microsoft. So many - in fact that employees consider MS to be Democrat. Ballmer can not be well respected for his Republican tendencies, and he has, by-the-way pretty much converted Gates to a Republican.

The state only recently required you to select a party prior to the primaries. We like to think the state is independent and only the best candidates regardles of party sponsorship are selected but the recent Gov election, which initially and unexpectedly had a Republican winning, has us all looking at vote counting reform. Cris eventually prevailed.

I point this all out because Microsoft employees in Washington State are part of a larger whole that involves Ballmer's being the odd man out, at least when it comes to the home State and Seattle. He really swims against the current. For moral, I suspect his resignation would be good news for the Washington State employees.
