The label takse 95% of the pie. A good legitamate PR firm would only take 10%-15%.

The labels are able to do this becuase of payola. They control the radio stations indirectly through the "Indies" (Independant music promoters) which pay the radio stations each time a song is played. Don't go through a label and your song won't get played on the radio hence people will never hear the artist.
