The end is not near
But it's an encouraging sign all the same. Just one more razor cut on the flank of the monster. A little more blood, another opportunity for an infection to develop.

Just started working with a new customer...around 100 employees, good margin, lots of cash. The strategic plan is to start moving their business critical systems to web apps, the first Linux boxes will be going in this summer. File storage and web services first, then we'll introduce Firefox and see if we can wean them off of Exchange, which they hate anyway. Stoneware portal software, also running on a Linux box for company and customer SSO and portal services and application framing.

Ah, I love it when a non-MSFT plan comes together! Sadly we'll have to keep a couple 2003 servers around for SQL Server and their accounting package, but automatic updates on those should insure a steady stream of service billing. Cha-ching! LOL. And this customer has a former Miss America contestant on their staff. Woooweee. That view alone makes it worth the drive, plus I'm getting paid.

Is this a great country or what?
