I agree.
I think song in the church is fine. Ours has a choir that adds much to the service, but at the same time the songs sound more mournful than joyful. Sometimes I think it is a good time to release your inner joy in song. That's not something you can do on the street corner very well.

"Make known among the nations what the Lord has done."

"Sing to the Lord."

"Shout aloud and sing for joy."




I don't know for sure but woudl guess church is one place he may have been thinking about.
I think there needs to be quiet time in church too, for certain, praying as a congregation. But growing up in the Episcopal church, everything is all about tradition and simply and solemnly repeating the same things each week.
Maybe at home is a good place to pray quietly to the Lord and church is a chance to let the joy in your heart come out with others in an appropriate setting.
But, not loudspeakers and giant concert screens needed. As for the sponsors, Jesus already made his feelings on that very clear and I don't think any church that is legitimate could possibly go there. But I wouldn't be surprised either.
