Answer: Hack our own Infrastructure
In the eyes of corporate and government
officials, it does not matter what the common
people want or need. The government and
industies will do what THEY want in order to
further THEIR interests. The best way to counter
this type of abuse is to not use their
infrastructure. Which would most people prefer -
An overpriced, monitored, throttled, and censored
internet connection, or a no-cost, uninhibited
mesh network that can be almost as fast as the
Internet?

Muninets, FreeWans and such are being built and
tested by hackers in many areas. Grantd, they do
not (yet) have the same worldwide reach as the
Internet, but they do allow the fast sharing of
information for little cost. Eventually, as
hacks get better and more people get involved,
the government and corporate controlled Internet
will become increasingly irrelevant.

The page at http://www.plaza1.net/FreeWan/ is
only one example of how such networks are put
together. Of course, take any legal warnings as
a small measure of c.y.a. The free flow of
information is here to stay despite the efforts
of many governments and corporations.
