- Energy policy

off topic.
We never did get to read Cheney's energy policy. 9/11 was obviously a tragic event but these crooks used it like a war-profiteering criminals would. Surely the origanl policy had Enron all over it, but he invokes executive privilege to not release it. Nobody really cared. 9/11 happened afterall. thats how they got away with doing as they wished and getting very little flak about their stonewalling on every issue. 9/11. We are at war. (which also bothers me. They claim the illegal wiretapping is ok during time of war and it was against terrorism. Yet the only war actually declared was on Iraq which had nothing to do with the war on terror. Does that mean every president until the end of time can wiretap as they see fit? Surely terrorism will exist in some form/degree to the end of time? I don't get that? ) Years earlier, it was one of Gore's only really good plans leading up to 2000 appointment of our president, the Dems came out in support of some kind of incentives..whatever it would take to get companies using R&D on alternative energy in a big way. Bush, at some sierra club rally laughed that off to the small gathering with a dumb a$$ chuckle "has anyone here heard of an SUV that runs on fuel cells?" yuck yuck. If MoveOn would grab that footage and make sure the regime doesn't get high ground on alternative energy cause it seems everyone forgot this was key policy desire of Dems over 7 years ago or more and now Reps are latching onto alternative energy as though it was theirs. We lost so much time that could have been spent on alternative energy BIG time and all the while this regime would spin how we needed to drill in AS. and rid our dependency on the middle east. By using that statement in conjunction with 60% of our oil is imported and mentioning the middle east, many would get the idea we were getting most of imported oil from mideast whent it's more like 17%. I believe with the accelerated alternative energy initiatives Gore was proposing we would have created a whole new technology sector of jobs for one thing, and would be close to conquering that 17% by now.
That would have given MS more room to grow into the alternative energy sector.
