Because petty politics is more fun...
or because there's that pesky guilt factor and you think the party you prefer can never do any wrong at all... (and that particular form of mental illness is contagious on both sides of the aile...)

All the people want is honesty. Or, if nothing else, least fair energy prices and jobs... Heck, if the American people felt content, they'd be more likely to enlist for when it was time to battle an enemy. Right now they see what is happening, know they are being ill-treated with no hope for the future, and wouldn't lift a finger to defend a country that's freely pissing on them (surely this isn't "trickle-down economics"?!). Which is all fairly scary once you look at the whole picture, and I'd rather not - does anybody have a 2 liter pitcher of Diet Pepsi for sale? I'm thirsty... grin
