You are correct that both parties have and continue to serve
a master that is not we the people.

However as for the Patriot Act. Funny but I myself would not
have thought until the story broke the we had adopted secretly
prison camps in places like the former Soviet Union and that we
actually DID torture.

Look we make a big stir about Iran not following a treaty it
signed the Nuclear None Proliferation Treaty and we do fuss
about that do we not? Did wwe as a country sign onto treaties
like the Geneva Convention? Did we not (this current
administration make a huge issue about Saddam torturing?
Saddam use to secretly haul his people away to his torture
chambers. Now it turns out we secretly haul his people away to
our torture chambers. Oh yes our torture is nicer...I forget.

What I meant to say is that the Patriot Act is an opening of the
barn dorr....REGARDLESS. It leaves more FAITH in the
administration in power then should be given without proper
checks and balances. If it is abused will we know about it that
very minute or will it take days, weeks, months, years or even
decades to become aware of the problem? Sort of like I for one
did not know about these prison camps long after they were
established and used. Once a stream of horses (our rights) have
left that barn because we left that huge door open it will be far
too late.
