Sounds like EQ 2 years ago

Everquest used to be the great MMORPG. It was fun. Then they stopped updating their systems and graphics, and stopped caring about their fan base, and now they've eeked into obscurity.
WoW now has the same problem. They used to be fun. Now they have constant server problems, their graphics are grossly out of date, and they aren't listening to user feedback about improvements.

I played EQ and EQ2. I played SWG, GW, CoH/V. Oh, and I PLAYED WOW for almost a year. Dark Age may only have around 2 million users (and rapidly growing), but hundreds of us can war with hudreds of others from 2 other groups at the same time. WoW can't even come close. The gameplay, graphics, and ease of use is much better than WoW. Mythic is constantly coming up with original ideas and changes in gameplay, Blizz doens't. (Most of the WoW interface and gameplay looks almost identical to old versions of DAoC, excpet DAoC has been around longer and has been updated extensively.)

I personally find DAoC much more enjoyable, but to each their own. Blizzard is going to keep taking hits if they don't fix their issues soon. They were buggy since the beginning, but it seems to have gotten worse over the past few months.
