There are NOT a lot of Alternatives.
After all of the CoV, DAoC, and D&DO fan boys get there ads in, the reality is that those games are similar but pale in comparison to WoW. I am one who grew so tired of waiting in a queue to log into WoW bought Guild Wars because friends were raving about it. Instanced everything except Cities? What a joke. The richness of the game play and interactivity with fellow adventurers(players) is what seperates WoW from all of the other 10,000 player games. Period. Nothing like it exsists anywhere else. Thats why there are 6 MILLION players all of the other MMO games combined dont touch that number. IF the others had even remotely the same quality of gameplay they would all be riding the wave that WoW has created and increased player numbers, instead of advertising no "waiting here".

WoW has the possibility to nurture the same type of loyal cult following that Apple created in the early 80's and they are dropping the ball miserably. Vivendi Universal Entertainment should really consider that the very entity that has created this UNHEARD of success, is also committing suicide right before thier eyes. Blizzard Entertainment is taking the fall on every forum that exsists and in the publics perception. Wake up Vivendi and Blizzard scream out for help, you have been eviscerated and dont even realize it yet. 6 Million gamers mad as hell at you is an harbringer of doom for you.
