If Windows was value for money MS wouldnt be giving local discounts
In shifting towards a situation where 3rd world countries get Windows for pennies but 1st world businesses must pay until their noses bleed for the same thing, Microsoft are publicising the fact that their products price is driven not by quality (which we knew already) but by the maximum amount that can be extorted by Microsoft from the user. Anyone buying Windows in Zimbongoland at a steep discount then deploying it in a US company on the American mainland would be guilty of a criminal offence - think about that for a moment. It is illegal to avoid the extortion Microsoft are free to employ. ANyone trying to avoid Microsoft corporate extortion would be ruthlessly hounded through the courts until the thugs at Microsoft had extorted the full price. Plus costs. This is why Open Source is appealing to honest people. They don't like being legally forced to accept a financial fleecing by convicted foreign monopolists like Microsoft.
