Ok People I can understand the frustrations here. Understand them completely. As a parent I do want stricter laws and regislations. This however I am not so sure about. I guess you could say that I am kind of on the fence with it though.
But I do have a few ideas. We already have Online registries for known sex offenders in most states right? I know the following idea would require a lot of extra work and stuff like that but why not cross reference things like that with whomever is signing up for Service? I know there owuld be loopholes and other things that would tie it up but with time and effort it could work. And in those instances the ISP's could legally (if a law gets written to that effect of course) retain records for those particular people longer than just having to do it for everyone.
I know it is a long shot but it seems like a good idea to me. I mean even if they can't do the cross referencing thing maybe there is a way to notify the ISP's ahead of time about known sex offenders.
I know that we would still have to worry about those that are still in the unknown offeners category but there are other things that can be done. It doesn't seem like they are looking at those possibilities though.
