"prevents a viewer of a direct broadcast from switching channels"????
Now let me see if I have this right:

With this "invention" in place, if I am watching one football game on CBS and during a commercial break I want to switch over to Fox and see what's happening in the football game they're broadcasting, I won't be allowed to change channels on my own television? Yeah, try that and see what happens.

The technology companies seem intent on insuring that nobody wants to buy their latest products that are loaded with DRM and trash ideas like this.

Actually, if any company, television channel or movie studio is stupid enough to try to use this "invention", I hope they make it public the day they start doing it. That way you'll be able to watch the very beginning of their stock doing a crash and burn.
