It's one thing to protect or set up precautions in advance
but the take I am getting on this from the story is that the business is more important. I can gaurandamntee that when the big quake hits, there will be no San Francisco left for conducting business. The quake in 89' was only 1/32nd the force of the 06' quake. 67 people died, billions were lost in damage, communications were cut or overloaded, water supply for the fire departments damaged.

SF got lucky... BUT the fact remains that after the next big quake, SF will no longer be the hub it is now. Investors will finally realize that it's not a safe place to put their money. It doesn't take a genius to figure that out. But to worry about a business right after a major disaster? I would be more concerned with food, shelter and water as well as looters. I live south of SF and where I am, I am protected by a granite slab, but roads are still vulnerable to damage. Phone lines, power lines, cell phone towers all are vulnerable.

Sorry but I just can't see being worried about business. And if the "share holders" are dumb enough to believe that business will continue after a massive quake... well need I continue?
