Oracle says may launch own Linux version

Seems to me the logic fails...

A) Why would Oracle buy just one distro in order to kill off Linux when you know there will be other distros following it? That one distro, isn't even a half percent of the available distros out there. If Oracle perceives Linux as a threat, then why invest in just one distro for the sole intent of getting rid of Linux? Illogical.

B) FACT: Oracle has been benchmarked to run far faster on a Linux box than on a Microsoft box. If anything, Linux is making Oracle look good, and vice versa.

C) The point about spaghetti code on Microsoft's part is valid. If Oracle is at the mercy of another vendor's constant re-patching of the browser, naturally, Oracle would want to go out and find a better portal for their customers to use.

Therefore, Oracle is investing in Linux because it MAKES sense, not because they're being suckered by Loverock's delusions.
