Box Office Drops
"should show whether box-office attendance dropped 9 percent worldwide in 2005 on the quality of films "or if...people are obtaining their entertainment in some other way.""

"Some other way" is spending $1000 on a good projector, never going to the movies, and saving $50 per flick by renting and watching from home - heck, it's a 125 inch screen in the comfort of your own home, and its less than 10% of the cost (at one movie per week, a projector is paid off in less than 1/2 a year).

If studios/cinemas want to increase box office, they MUST decrease ticket AND consession prices - $50 for two people to go to the movies is WAY to expensive (people who make minimum wage have to work a whole day just to afford one night at the movies)- and just think what happens if you have kids.

I spent $600 on a used projector at e-bay, and only go to the movies twice a year (at most) - I can wait till it comes out on DVD.
