If every buyer...
... obtained Red Hat's software without payment (aka buying a service contract) then Red Hat would have no revenue, right? And if Red Hat had no revenue, then the company would be out of business.

RHES shouldn't be discounted. It's a product.
Red Hat is, along with SuSE, one of the two commercial Linuxes, as you know.

I'm making an observation of what appears obvious: Red Hat is a software company. One with a leaky business model, admittedly, but a software company.
