You have no real concept of the difference, do you?
Red Hat did not 'create' the software or the OS, it may have enhanced, or modified it, but the basic 'software' is open-source to begin with.
I can just as easily take a copy of Microsoft software, sell it, and still support it for an extra charge (thus ADDED-VALUE VENDOR).
Red Hat adds support to the open-source software.
Ever try to call Microsoft because XP didn't install right on your home computer? good luck.
