Zander was a boot licking moron as well
There was a sales slow down of PC's back in 2001/2002 time frame and I remember hearing Zander say in person that - "they"(Presumably McNealy and Zander) had been saying that PCs were dead, and now it had finally happened. Zander was also around for the $450 million purchase of HighGround Systems(a company that was under a year away from running out of venture money.) At the time they blabbed that Sun had realized they needed to have a better relationship with Microsoft, and that the HighGround purchase was a step in that direction. Within months they were stripping out all the PCs, and telling all the Microsoft developers to rebuild the product with Java/Oracle. After about 3 years, the whole group was basically shut down. Net result for Sun, hundreds of millions wasted for NOTHING in return. As long as McNealy("our spiritual leader") is running that place, they are destined for bankruptcy. The guy should have been institutionalized years ago.
