And is the majority getting what it wants? Do we have universal health care? A healthy job market? A healthy economy?
America isn't even remotely a democracy anymore. It's more like minority rule nowadays. Whatever the US government wants it will seek out, no matter how much of a majority is against it.
And I mention the Republicans because they're the ones who hold all three branches of government and are running this country straight into the trash. While I fault the Dems for allowing themselves to be bought off so they'll stand down while the Repubs deal the final nails in the coffin for this country, I fault the people actually carrying out the crimes more than I do the criminal bystanders.

"... well, at least you're off in your happy place."
