Good Grief...
This is one of the most inane responses I've ever read in my life. It's so full of half-truths and misdirection - the writer apparently can't tell up from down.

"Im all for MORE GOVERMENT REGULATION over the Internet, not less "

In other words - he wants a large government body to determine who can and who can't say what. When large governments get involved, personal freedoms always take a back seat.

"especially if its not guided by morality and the Bible, and based on increased consumer protection and freedom for everyone, rich and poor"

Here is a perfect example of misdirection. Unlike our liberal counterparts, we conservatives don't actually believe in ramming our views down another persons throat. Consumer AND producer protections and equal freedom for everyone IS a guiding principle of the conservative movement (a la Reagan). If you think liberals are the true voice of tolerance, I dare you take a look at what happened on the University of Washington campus recently when the idea of presenting a memorial to former alumni who were also Congressional Medal of Honor recipients.

"This is especially the case with the Internet, and once again, the dummies win this one and strip out valuable legislation that would have ptotected the average taxpayer in this country! Once again big money and lobbying wins in this country and the little guy loses. Families lose and small business lose."

Republicans striped out parts of a bill that would have PREVENTED competition in broadband video access and yet, this is somehow an attack against the consumer?

"I mean, we have MORE regulation over what we can say on the radio,"

This is apparently an attack on what happened against Howard Stern. What this author of the original message failed to realize that Powell was acting on orders from his boss - a Democrat.

"over what we do with our bodies"

Actually, it's not what you can do with your bodies, it's what you CAN'T do with OTHER'S bodies. That being said, why should people in New York decide if abortion is legal in Kentucky? Repeal Roe vs. Wade and abortion does NOT go away - it simply becomes a STATE issue like it should be. If New Yorkers want abortion, they can have it. If Kentucky residents wish to ban it - they can.

"what sex we can marry"

You mean preventing a small minority trying to change the definition of marriage for the majority.

"what sexuality we are born with "

What the hell are you talking about? If any group is trying to change gender roles, it's the liberals.

"and we get to see our kids die in Iraq"

You apparently have neither children nor children in Iraq. If you did, you'd realize two things:

1) they VOLUNTEERED for military duty knowing the responsibilities thereof
-and-
2) they are NOT children. They are adults and comparing them to children is insulting to them.

"But things like stopping large greedy corporations from getting advantage in the Interent bandwidth"

uh, didn't striping out the legislation PREVENT greedy corporations from taking advantage?

"protecting our workers from offshoring,"

oh, that's a Republican thing now? Last time I checked, John Kerry's wife's ketchup company offshored over 30% of their workforce.

"or preventing campaign-corruption "

AHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!! George Soros pulled a fast one on you!

"ie ex-Rep. Tom Delay"

To quote Ann Coulter: "Vote for the Democrat party, we are only 60% less corrupt!" Lets face some facts here - Delay is untouchable only because Ronnie Earl has nothing on him.

You really need to get some facts straight - listening to all that Air America radio has really screwed you up.
