Isn't Trust the biggest issue?
Mark

I think the items you mention are obviously key in a deployment that is within one company - although another massive issue then appears - the data entry associated with linking each tag to the item that it refers to.

When the item is tagged earlier in the supply chain, then how does the receiving company gain information about the product when they have no commercial relationship with them. For instance, Wal-mart may have a relationship with a distributor, but the product is made and tagged by a different company. How does Wal-mart get at that data - if Walmart can see it, can I log on and see it as well? That is the trust issue - what will companies make visible outside their own environment? There is some extra discussion on the topic of RFID in the Global supply chain here.
