IF you have a beef with the government, posting here isn't doing any good. Write your congressperson or senator with your disapproveable.

As you stated, speedpass does not 'broadcast' your location (etc) and neither does RFID. The effective range of RFID is only 6 feet! This is no more intrusive than scanning a UPC. Granted RFID 'may' have the capability to store more info than just UPC, but no one has stated exactly WHAT info is actually stored on RFID. I see no reason why the RFID could not be disabled at the cash register just like the magnetic security strips that are in use today.

Sounds more like you have OTHER issues that do not relate to RFID. Let me turn that little senario around -- you are in a serious car accident on the fringe of a cell. You dial 911. Assuming that you are injured or too disoriented to tell the operator where you are, how will the emergency rescurers find you? Weither you want to believe it or not, that technology IS NOT in place and the cell phone companies are fighting it because it will COST THEM MONEY. And personally, I find this 'consumer benefit' to outweight any intrusion into my privacy!

Yes, Americans have given up a lot of their privacy and rights lately. Posting your gripes here won't do much good. As my mother would say, "you're barking up the wrong tree."

PS I write my congressman and senators often. Do you?
