We have a dimwitted president and ideologically hampered staff which couldn't even be bothered to pursue daily briefings which CLEARLY mentioned Al Qaeda plans to attack the US with aircraft.

So go ahead. Force companies to divulge any information some isolated wonk in an over-reaching governmental office figures is "key."

Gee. Let me see. We need these records so we can search out "box-cutters."

No, there really is very little opportunity for reasoned discourse with people who've totally been conditioned by 9-11 fear.

Kudos to Google for not just rolling over and playing dead like Microsoft, Yahoo and AOL did.

If the US government is REALLY serious about trying to control access to content, then it would be best served by bringing in web administrators from China who have a wealth of experience in how to restrict citizen access to privacey AND content on the web.
