My First thought: Woman CIO, CEO sure! And then I thought...
(and I'm going to get it for this)...
Have I ever, EVER had a female co-worker or superior I thought was a good boss. Hmmm.... No, not yet.
I say not yet, because I'm sure there are some out there.
Some of my best friends are women, and I'd love to work with or them (I think)... but no such luck.

Now, I'm sure that most women in most fields are as qualified or more qualifed as their male counterparts. Yet I find that the female supervisors I've known, fall into two categories (to some degree):
a) The mousey lady who doesn't want to 'be noticed'. They don't tell you you're doing anything wrong (or right for that matter). They won't stand up to their counterparts. They don't even want to be there except that it's the next step up the ladder.
Favorite phrase:
"Well, we don't want to make waves"

b)The arrogant, know-it-all B***h!!!
Usually noted by saying the following phrases:
-"Who's you're boss?"
-"Don't do _______ again unless you ask me!" (even if it's your job to do ________.
-"I can get you fired you know"
All the while sucking up to their superiors.

Now I'm giving extreme examples, but most male supervisors don't operate like that. I say most because I have encountered some that fit in both catgories; however most male supervisors are kind of 'regular' guys ...pals...who direct people.
LEADERS... not dictators, or shy daisies.
And really, I've only had one or the other as a female boss.

However, I don't blame women, genetics or their upbringing.
I blame the male dominated world.
The world where a forceful woman is called a B***H, and shunned; In my opinion giving rise to the shy supervisors. And, where men will not respond to or respect a woman unless she actually becomes a B***H.

Yet I still think that there are many women who I'd be glad to work for, and the world might be a better place if men realized that.
Or course I'm a man, and have a skewed vision on the subject.
