Maybe....
Maybe there are some real reasons other than the supposition that it's gender discrimination:

a) It is a known fact that women are more emotional than men. This is not bad, but can inherently make them better at some things than men, and not as suited at others. Why do we need to have equal representation in all roles, jobs, functions in society in order for there to be considered to exist "gender equality"?

b) Many women have found that the "feminist" movement and notion of "empowerment" in their careers are not as fulfilling as purported - instead they have more things on their plate, trying to juggle family responsibilities and work. Many couples are finding that having both work full-time does not work. More women are starting to go part-time or stay at home altogether. It should not be surprising that men are reclaiming more managerial or executive positions - its only been one generation now that has had the majority of women in those environments full-time. That would not yield a proportionate number of female execs. And when they start to drop out, it should be expected that the ration declines again.

Political correctness and gender-blurring has to stop sometime. Now's as good a time as any.
