about voiding warranties
You can add components to modify your new car and still be covered by warranty. Just if that modification turns out to the cause of any problems you are out of luck.

You may need an example.

You can buy a new sports car then take it Fountain Tire and buy your self a brand new set of racing slicks. You just modified your car. Now if the there is an powertrain problem covered by warranty then no problem but don't expect the tires to be covered by the dealership warranty, that would be under Fountain Tires warranty.

Ever notice it's the same in software world? Buy an OS from Microsoft and Microsoft helps you for price. Buy it from DELL with a new PC and Dell helps you. Put Norton on thier and Symantic helps you. The list goes on.
