Maybe web developers can be indemnified for Eolas's successful case?
After all, now Microsoft have been found guilty, and fined, for (alledgely) stealling Eolas's technology, websites around the world are going to have to be reworked to cater for whatever fixes Microsoft finally install into their browser to correct things. This will cost those web site owners that chose to use this browser technology thousands (probably billions, collectively) of dollars, to fix. The logic of this article suggests that they should all be able to petition Microsoft to have this money paid back to them.
