Linux is one Kernels of just _one_ open source operating system. I do not expect anyone to come battering down my door any time for my use of Samba, Apache, PHP or Postgres: especially as I am currently running them on FreeBSD, an Open Source kernel so utterly devoid of risks to cliams to its IP, that I sometimes wonder why the likes of Microsoft do not recognise _it_ as the true threat to its empire, rather than Linux.

However, by simply referring to "open source" and seeking to highlight the so-called risks of using "open source" software, when she is really refering to the 2.4.x series of the Linux operating system kernel (regardless of how realy even _those_ risks may be), I can only assume that the writer is either misinformed, or is seeking to misinform.
