Only 24 Hours in a Day...
...and thats a fact that will never change. I mean which would you choose if you had one free hour left in your day? Spend it with your son or trying to create a new email account on one of the major portals so you can try and manage your mail more efficiently?

My point here is one central fact....the software models we are living under using software by the likes of Microsoft and Google and online services isnt working? Why? Very simple....requires too much of our attention!! Software is STILL the focus...still what businesses are trying to sell, service, and integrate with millions of people who simple dont care anymore!

Whats the solution? Very simple.....centralize all your data OFF these services and web sites and desktops and manage it YOUR way on your OWN web site. The software to do that should be completely free and not matter. Who really cares? As long as it makes your life easier. I predict in about 10-15 years a HUGE change in the industry. Software needs to be subverted as well as online services and search to whats really important....YOUR DATA! That can only happen if we get away from these companies that try and build proprietary modelks that are expensive, time-consuing to learn and development against, and in the end, place the software front and center rather than whats really important, your data.

When we all have moved away from the search engine online model and desktop software/OS model, and move to a model that allows me to centralize and manage my OWN data and files on my own domain for the rest of my life, only then will we have the ability to manage our time and this information overload. When that happens, software is a slave to data, and data a slave to our time and needs. And suddenly, your data services you, the consumer, and helps you manage your life. Not the other way around!
