- Blatent misuse of patents

The patent system is NOT supposed to be a for-profit market. Its purpose is ONLY to ensure that inventors have a good chance to get a head start in a new market.
The INVENTION is supposed to reap the profits, NOT the patent.
In fact, the ONLY reason they have any value is because companies assign "royalties" to them. Which isn't really in our laws, but since the company has a monopoly on the inventions, it sees a chance to cash in.
