Ok, I'll try to explain
Are you saying 90% or so of all desktop and business users are retarded enough to use a system they hate and is worthless. What business sense does that make? Where was Linux or anyone else for the last 30 years. Oh, the BS story again? That's lunacy. It's a company more diversified than imaginable and they still put out great products. I've owned a windows PC since 3.0 and not once have I had a problem. Users need to used common sense. You can lock down a Windows machine easily with free software.

Linux would not exist today if it were not for Bell Labs. Every idiot knows that. They are spin off that took since the frickin 1960s to evolve into anything worth mentioning, which only now are they mentioned due to huge propoganda mostly. Legions of zealots spend all of their time bashing MS in hopes of making inroads.

Ever hear of Snort is it? It's not the only small "free" piece of software that bowed to the VCs who will never buy into a service only arrangement on PC based products, so he closed the source from there forward and started charging for all upgrades etc. Sold the company for 225 Million. Open source zealots let is slide because it was helping to give exposure. Hypocrits. I'm just not comfy with a product that has 500 to 5000 copyrights that could be pulled at any time, or the service dropped. Due to this trend, open source startups are dropping like flies and its' becoming a nasty corporate situation...why is MS worse? They are good capitalists. Linux zealots try to fill them full of holes when they have less bug fixes monthly thand Apple or Linux. That's right. Linux/Linux products hold a 3 to 1 advantage in needing more bug fixes. If you are going to compare "linux" as one entity to Microsoft, then don't try to say it's vendors, like this site's crappy as hell forum that blows up every 10 minutes, type of vendors. If ZD can't put together a linux/apache forum any better than this, what can we expect? Any MS forum with ZD level backing is great. Ever go to .NET247? I mean any of them...10s of thousands...they are all fast and well structured and pleasing to the eye, which does count! Studies have shown people are more productive when their environment is appealing. Not these dark dank linux chambers all over the net.

Of course they are targeted more often due to majority marketshare. What do you think Hackers motives are? to affect 5% or 90% of the users? come on. And when there is a article such as teh Windows vs. Apple vulnerabilities, all the Apple and *nix people, which make up 80% of all tech formus just to beat off to slamming MS, they say look at Apache!! It has marketshare and is more solid that IIS. Well no ****. It's basically passive!! That's no argument at all. IT'a piece of passive software that MS desktops come with 2 of!! IT's a tiny piece of an OS in terms of MS functionality. If MS built nothing but web servers, I'm pretty certain they'd not only have the most secure but the most functional as well. That argument is old and has no parallel to anything.

I run visual studio 2003 and 2005, IIS, SQL Server 2000 dev., several IE sessions and many other things on my 3 year old Toshiba with XP and it flies. I've never had one moments trouble with it. And there is just so much good software that will run on it. Sure, MS suffers from what all do, and that's software makers being lazy and not writing to the specs, but even that gets chalked up against MS. It's all propaganda by a legion of zealots trying to revive a 1960s kernel that has a business model doomed to implode. Too many copyrights and too many flavors and unsupported code.
