RE: And your point is?
?Are you saying that even at a disadvantage, with no magical powers over developers or retailers, that Microsoft beat Apple at their own game? That's called good business, is it not??

Nope, I believe what he is saying is that Microsoft is really good at bull$hit and pulling the wool over peoples eyes. Yeah, that sounds about right!

?Is Linsux or crapple going after any of MS niches? Is that fair??

Never heard of Linsux or crapple, even looked them up hoping to see what new systems these are. Can't find them. So the question is are you dyslexic?

?MS was simply going after linsux founder in reality, AT&T and the bell labs. Why does everyone make pointless negative remarks about Windows for beating down the giant hovering over them in their own day, which was beaten, a samson and Goliath story that should be applauded. So is AT&T using Linsux to try and take revenge or what??

Actually Linux was founded by a Finnish gent names Linus Torvalds. Look up the history of Linux, matter of fact here is a link to get you started! Um because Microsoft is no better than the ones they ?beat down?. No AT&T is using Linux (note correct spelling...) to save money and increase efficiency.

?Why are they trying to worm into MS's spaces? Why are they turning coat on "open source" one after another and closing up the code to make a cool 200 or 300 million? And then of course say it was never about the money....incredible.?

I am not sure what you are rambling about here... care to clarify?

?Windows should be beloved. It's the most VERSATILE OS in the world and the most productive.?

ROFLMAOHMS! You are kidding right?! Beloved? Only by a few, it's tolerated would be a more correct statement. As for versatile, not even close hombre, It's stuck to the x86 architecture and the smallest device it can possibly run on is a palm or phone device. Linux can and will scale from a wrist watch all the way up to 2,000+ clusters. Take a look at the top 500 super computers in the world... no Microsoft there. Linux can be molded anyway you want and truly configured for specific task or multiple tasks. You can take pieces out and plug others in as needed to build a truly flexible and customized system at a fraction of the cost. Try again.

?You can't have both all the time in life. Security is getting there...so waht if they didn't envision this. They are now much safer than linsux or crapple by far.

Both all the time? Care to clarify what you mean by that statement? So what if they didn't envision security? Well tell that to the people that have lost countless hours of work, family photo's, music collections. Tell that to the thousands of businesses that have lost millions... no billions in cleaning up after the mess Microsoft allowed to happen. As for safer than Linux or Apple, no but they are getting there. I will agree with that statement. It's not there yet but Microsoft has been making progress. And this is good.

?It's just they are targeted MUCH more often because of their ubiquitousness and nothing more. And there sits the wonderful APACHE in between the internet adn most home users doing jack squat to stop crap coming through the pipe.?

Oh the more popular argument again! Apache is not designed to stop anything it is web serving software. That is what it does and does very well. No Bastille, portsentry and such are what are designed to stop things on the internet. It is not the job of a web server. That is what a firewall with AV and AS tools is for. It is also not the job of the web host to filter crap out. That would be the ISP's job as well as the home user. People need to start being accountable for their systems. After all they paid to have them in their house. If they don't want that responsibility then they hire folks like me to set them up. Or they become another statistic of infection and another source of the problem. And guess what system they are running...
