- As an academic dean for a private business- and technology-oriented university, I'd agree with your comment about encouraging kids (especially females) to enroll in high-tech areas of study rather than those areas that may generate more income after graduation. However...$100,000 for an undergraduate education??? That's a tad high unless you're going to an exclusive Ivy League school, and what percentage of undergrads actually go to one? A better figure is around $35,000, which includes one or two grants available to nearly anyone. $50,000 will get you a Ph.D.
