On theaters
I disagree. People will still go to theatres. Going to a movie theatre is less about seeing the movie and more about getting out and enjoying the experience. Having an HDTV is still just a TV. It doesn't match the size of digital projector on a huge curved screen. Add to that the convience of pop, candy, popcorn with the energy of a crowd and you have an experience you can't get at home.

What will kills or will kill theatres is Hollywoods greed that causes ticket prices to rise the cost of pop and popcorn to go up. I see point where the price of theatre ticket will be more than the price of the DVD and the cost of treats will buy you a second DVD. That's what will kill theatres and it's already happening. Couple that with just a bunch of crap coming from Hollywood where only 1 in 10 movies is actually worth seeing via theatre or DVD and it's a mess.
