- Inform the telemarketing employees . . .
- That would be hard, since in the case listed above, the telemarketers were auto-dialers. Your best defense against this rude invasion of privacy is to get yourself listed on the national "Do Not Call" list. It works great. You can use it for both your land line and cell phones. I got tired of answering the phone everytime I sat down to eat almost nightly and finally looked up the site and signed up. At least one telemarketer or another called my house practically every night between 6 - 9 PM and it was really annoying. Now I know when my phone rings, it's someone I know and a welcomed call. It's a big relief, it works, and I recommend it to everyone. Tell your friends and family to do it too. As a matter of fact, here's the site. https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx For your friends that don't have access to an online PC, you can register over the phone by calling 1-888-382-1222. It is effective for 5 years, and believe me, you'll be glad you used this service. By the way, by law, telephone solicitors have to show their name and phone number. If it is blocked or shows up as out of area, you should ask them for the information, then inform them that you are going to report them. Believe me, you won't be hearing from them again.
