Software vendors face rising offshore costs

Well...

One of my points was that in time the price paid for offshoring will rise enough so that things will even out for the "local worker". This I think applies no matter what systems or code base you are thinking of.

I'm not sure that the same dynamics apply to Linux/OSS as it has not been primarily developed here in the USA, but by a smattering of coders from all over the world. It pretty much started "offshore" from no matter where you look from, so I guess the mindset and problems with offshoring have already been struggled with and worked through in the Linux/OSS workspace.
