Thank you for your civil tone. I still believe you are not correct about Islam and the Crusades. Here is some info:

1. Sure...because of Islamic "crusades" to conquer that territory. Look at the section titled "The Timeline" in the above article.
2. No. Most Crusaders returned home with no gain, and many with loss, both financial and physical. Quite a few European nobles actually sold part or all of their estates in order to finance the undertaking.
3. Yes, Richard was held ransom by Leopold after being captured by Leopold while returning from the Holy Land. This doesn't reflect well on the Europeans...but it also doesn't exonnerate Islam in any way. I'm not sure what your point was with this.
