I don't really see this as a big deal. Emails are like postcards. That is anyone can see the email as passes from server to server to get from the sender to the reciever. All this law means is that what is in plain sight is now admissable in court.
If you don't want people to read what you are sending in an email then encrypt it. Otherwise you should not expect any more privacy than you'd get from a postcard. If you're a criminal sending a letter through regular post would put all the details of the crime on post card? I don't think so. So why would you do that with an email? Encryption is the envelope. If you choose not take the path of due dilligence and people are reading you emai, which they are already, then you have only yourself to blame. Just because Law Enforcement wasn't really looking before doesn't change a thing.
