I don't think they could get away with slowing down or stopping packets from another service, very long. It is also possible the reason Vonage is cheaper than your provider is, they are paying for tiered services also. You really didn't think $24.99/month was an unrestricted pipe now, did you? You get what you pay for. Gov't should keep their social experiments to themselves.

As for one vendor should not be able to purchase different bandwidth speeds, that is ludicrous. That is how the free market works. As for the customer getting restricted, he might want to call Vonage or others on their tier setting. Ultimately, pipes and content should be different companies and this would not happen.
