Sun does not innovate...
McNealy's big problem is he does not innovate. He is out there trying to copy-cat Microsoft every step of the way. We all know Sun settled with Microsoft to stave off embarassment in court as Microsoft proved over and over again how Sun was making up aggressions against Microsoft. Solaris, Java and Sun's middleware are all lame attempts at copying Microsoft (Windows server, .NET and Active Directory). My rep and I went to lunch today and spoke for hours and hours about how Microsoft has changed the face of computing while Sun has changed nothing and accomplished nothing. We went to lunch at 11:30am and by the time we got done making fun of Sun, it was 4pm.
